The Bakken Library and Museum of Electricty and Life is a large and unique collection of artifacts and books about the interaction of electricity, magnetism, and life. Located on the west side of Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis, in a former home of the inventor of the heart pacemaker, and the founder of Medtronic, Inc., the castle-like home and museum is a site for tourism, student field trips, historical medical research, and formal receptions. The Bakken Library produced and houses a collection of historic audio and video interviews with founders of Minnesota's famed medical device companies.
