The Biomedical Division of ASQ serves the modern quality professional in the biomedical industry nationwide and internationally. Vision. Its vision is to be the leading authority on quality issues related to the biomedical community.
Mission. Its mission is to promote the awareness and use of quality principles, concepts and technologies in the biomedical community. The Minnesota Section's Biomedical Consortium Task Group largely draws from Biomedical Division members in its area, fulfilling member and community needs locally. Some of the division activities involve grants and scholarships (nearly $300,000 in the past 10 years), publications and training aids, providing speakers for ASQ Sections and other groups, and work collaboratively with organizations such as the FDA, RAPS, Advamed, other ASQ groups, as well as international organizations. The division holds conferences and seminars around the country, sponsors presentations at the Worldwide Conference on Quality and Improvement (WCQI), has established the William J. Feingold Scholarship Program, developed and maintains the Biomedical Auditor certification (CBA), and has a growing number of regional discussion groups across the country.
